The playing has started! I've had some down time this week, along with last weekend, and I was able to find the Guitar method books in my basement, and put some time on my instrument. It was slow at first, mostly because the change from bass cleft (cello) to treble cleft, meaning that I have to memorize brand new notes. Once I started to get off my feet, however, I continued tearing through the book. It isn't like I've never played a guitar in my life, I actually took lessons for about a year, so the things that I'm beginning to go through now is mostly just reviewing and picking up what I forgot over the years. It'll take time, for sure, but I can definitely persist towards it. Also, with the amount of free time that I've had, I was able to look up a guitar tutorial of one of my favorite songs, This Means War, by Avenged Sevenfold, on YouTube, and start playing along with the songs that I listen to every day (mostly metal). Nothing serious, but it helps me work on the basics, and jamming out on a hardcore guitar riff is always a good time. This coming up week we're on break, so I'd imagine I'll have plenty of time to keep practicing and working on finishing book 1, but I can't promise anything. I'll probably keep screwing around on YouTube, too, and try to find out if there are any other songs I can jam out to. Cant wait!

Last week, I was very distraut as to what I wanted to do for my 20 time project. I decided on photography of Detroit, just because I didn't have anything else that came to my mind. This week, I spent a lot of time listening to music in order to find inspiration for as to what I wanted to do, and It was under my nose the entire time. I love music, I have a guitar that I never use, and I've always wanted to be in a band. This year, I plan to pick guitar back up and start playing again. I've got some guitar essentials books in my basement that I can learn from, as well as some sheet music from when I used to go to lessons. With some cello experience already under my belt, and some determination on my part, this could be a really fun project and I cannot wait to get started!!

This week for my 20 time project, I contemplated what I truly wanted to set my mind to for an entire year, and I honetly haven't come up with much. My original idea was to take pictures of architecture, specifically in Detroit, and place all my works in a photography book, which I would then publish. I decided to stick with this idea, but I don't feel that I am passionate enough for photography to spend an entire school year making a photography book. From here until next week, I plan to change my project; I'm not sure what to yet, but I'll start asking around for ideas and continue to narrow it down until I finally find something that I am passionate in.
